THE PICTURE
GALLERY
Welcome to my backpacking picture gallery. I have so many great
memories that I talk about all the time and never seem to be able to show
printedpictures to everyone that asks what it's really like. Well... I took
that to heart and decided to post them here for all to see.
I
have done so many trips now that a lot of them are starting to run together in
my brain.. that's where the pictures have helped me out. There are some great
memories wrapped up in them though. These are some of my favorite pictures and
many of them need no explaination.... though, I did embellish a bit on some of
the captions. We have several "jokes" in the backcountry, and many of them will
come out ....and there will be some for my unsuspecting buddies.... so look for
them! Eventually... I will have each person's email address attached to their
page... just in case you want to ask them something, make a comment, or even
make fun of them.

Winter backpacking / camping has
been an incredible challenge and an unbelievable treat wrapped up all in one.
The scenery is gorgeous when the sun hits right after a beautiful snowfall or
an ice glaze covers everything in sight. I feel like a kid in a candy store
just soaking it in. It helps me to appreciate God's great creation and how it
is ever changing. If everything was the same all the time... life would be
boring. Backpacking in general has also taught me quite a bit about my inner
self, having to dig deep within to find perserverance under extreme conditions,
determination when it gets too hard, and satisfaction of finally accomplishing
what I have set out to do. I had one of my very good friends tell me after one
of the trips, how therapeutic it was... very well put. I have been doing this
for about 11 years now with my season starting in September and ending about
April. I now lead several trips a year (a kids
trip, and a group trip ... typically
10-15 per group).
I
will continue to update these pages as I add more to the site...check back
often to see what new and crazy pictures I have added here. ENJOY!
