Everyone always asks what I do when I'm not working
on computers or capturing "bits of color" with my camera. Well, I thought
I would give you a better insight into "my other
worlds". This will give you more of a perspective
into what I do for fun and the person I
am.

MOUNTAIN BIKING Mountain biking. This has to be one of my most favorite things
to do. In the spring and summer when I'm not working or with my family, I spend
most of my time mountain biking. I normally ride 2-4 times a week. (30-50
miles) This is another one of those "personal" challenges in my life that keeps
me going. I grew up riding and racing BMX bikes. I enjoyed BMX in a much
different way than the way I do my mountain biking. You really have to pour
yourself into the bike. It's all about skill, endurance, physical and emotional
energy... and just plain fun. The challenges are very different than
backpacking, though I do apply my "bike climbing" to my "mountain climbing"
which is basically, "push hard for the top". I love the downhills, jumps,
stumps and anything technically challenging. There are about 7 -8 good trails
around charlotte to ride on. When I get more pictures, I will update the
site. |

BACKPACKING
I love spending time in the woods whether
it be day hiking, backpacking miles down a trail or trasping thru deep snow and
finding just the right campsite to perch on for the night. It's so peaceful and
quiet and it gives me a chance to relax my mind and get away from all the
technology that sometimes pulls me away from the more simple things in life.
Winter time is the most enjoyable time for me to go. I love the deep snow...
climbing a mountain in ice covered trails and getting battered side to side by
the wind. It's very challenging mentally and sometimes emotionally as well.
Most of the photos here are from winter trips I have been on with my friends.
Here you will get a glimpse into what it is I really do and the great friends I
have to share it with me.

4-WHEELERS
I've always enjoyed the outdoors and the variety of
things there are to do and anything that requires handlebars for getting some
air, is no exception to the rule. Now here's a change of pace from the
backpacking.... It's loud, fast , dangerous and exhilerating!!! Woo-aaaaa. I
had the chance a few years ago to purchase some 4-wheelers for Addison and
myself. What a blast that was. Our neighborhood was not yet developed, so we
rode all over the place. The best place to rride, is in Morganton at a place
called Brown Mountain. There's 40 miles of trails. It is mountainous terrain
with huge jumps. Eventually we had to get rid of them after Addison got hurt.
He is fine... but my nerves were not...so they had to go.

MUSIC/RECORDING
Not the outdoors... But yes
another very big part of me. I have been playing drums since I was 13 years old
and I taught myself. My musical influences growing up include Kansas, Journey,
and several jazz artists. I was playing double kick within 2 years from the
time I started and spent hours refining my skills. I've played in a few bands
and give a lot of credit to the musicians who helped me define my style.
I
had a recording studio after developing an ear for sound several years ago. I
was able to play, write, produce and be a part of several projects that
required more than just a drummer. I've written several songs on keyboard, and
played various instruments on many projects. I have listed a few of my
favorites of which you are more than welcome to listen to and download.
Enjoy the music. |
