We were dayhiking up to Mount Marcy, and this was one of several lakes up in the woods we stopped at to admire. The pines covered in snow were spectacular. below: Nah... Check this!! right: Here's Jimmy doing some climbing at Crowders Mountain. The rock is very sharp and there are routes here that have been changed due to bad rock. Crowders is about 45 minutes from Charlotte and is a very popular climbing spot for the local climbers. This is a nice change of pace for us... a little different from the cold stuff, but equally as challenging. During the spring and fall, we try do get in some climbing before the winter trips start. He's on "David's Castle" a 5-9 route. This was an "epic" day. After we climbed, we went to Grayson for a quick over nighter! above: Jimmy.
